So this week, I want to talk to you about Stealth Paid Traffic. Everybody is really big on Facebook, Google search and all the big names in search marketing and on the internet.
But like I said, I want to talk to your about Stealth Paid Traffic.
What I’m finding this year in particular is that there are a lot of social media sites out there that are a tier below the big sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. These sites have started up with some pretty heavy investments from Angel investors and I think the time has come wherein these investors actually want to see a return on their investments.
What you’ll find is a lot of these companies, sites like Digg, Reddit and some pretty major social media sites, are going to have to start monetizing the work that they’re doing. So I think what’s going to happen is, a lot of these sites are going to end up like the Google Display Network where you can pay in order to put your message or your banner on their particular website.
You’ll get a lot of impressions from this but the traffic will be fairly loosely targeted. So if you actually have a national level brand or a state level brand, I think you can benefit from this by actually getting a lot of impressions and a lot of brand awareness. And the clicks that will come through, you’ll never know what could happen to them.
The great thing about this type of traffic is, particularly in the early days, you actually get an arbitrage type of situation where this traffic is very cheap. When Google search or Google AdWords traffic started, you could get clicks for as little as 5 cents per click and Facebook traffic was around 25 cents per click. So it’s a great opportunity to get lots of cheap traffic to your website.
Just test this out. You might spend $300 on sites like Digg or Reddit or any other social sites that start up some paid traffic. Then see what happens. Run the test, see what happens and start building these little niches, stealth traffic paid for yourself. Stop relying on Google organic traffic.
