Hi guys. Nick here from HVAC Business Growth. Thank you very much for watching the show. In today’s episode we’re going to talk about blogging and whether or not it’s a good idea for your HVAC business. Overall, if you want to see an increase in organic traffic to your site, blogging is a good thing. As usual, there’s lots of details though. Let’s get stuck into the show.

Should you blog for your HVAC website? The answer to this is a resounding yes. There’s a few key points here. So first of all, it increases the size of the website. If you do a Google search in your particular market, you won’t find many five page websites ranking high up in Google. What you’re going to see is the sites are going to have a lot more pages on the site, the size of the website helps to make the site more relevant and authoritative in the eyes of Google.

It makes sense, doesn’t it? You’re going to trust the site that has maybe 15 pages on a topic versus one. So size of the website is critically important and blogging helps to increase the size of the website by adding pages to it. So the other key point is that it increases and creates brand exposure.

If you think one of the big conundrums of many HVAC business owners that we talk to is, what can I blog about? Or how can I do social media content? Because HVAC, it’s not the most inspiring topic, right? The key thing is that when you blog, it gives you an excuse to use your social media accounts. Let me explain.

Say you create a blog post, that blog post can then get shared onto your Facebook account, the Twitter account, the images can be put onto Instagram and you can repurpose that content in many, many different ways. It gives you a great excuse to put the brand out there and use your other channels that you’ve got. Use your social media accounts, use your Instagram, use your Twitter, use your Facebook, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. it gets your brand out there. That’s one of the key messages.

Now you’re probably thinking, all right, so you’re telling me to blog, what the hell do I blog about, right? So here’s some ideas for you. So you can do product reviews. So you might have five different brands that you work with and each brand might have a 10 variations of stock that you can actually install for people.

You could do a product review on 50 different products here if you wanted to. You could do a buying guide. So what to look for when or what to look for in a HVAC company. You could do case studies. You could do a case study about a family where they had an old system, you went in there and did a change out for them. And you can talk about how much more comfortable that family is and how much more efficient their system is running. Maybe you might talk about the reduction in the utility bills because the system is so much better.

There’s a few different blogging ideas that we’ve got here. So you could also create an email sequence where, let’s just say somebody inquires about a particular service that you’ve got via email or a contact form on the site, they don’t buy. They can go into a sequence, maybe a five to seven emails where you can plug those particular product reviews, buying guides, and case studies to try and further sell them and push them along the buying ladder, so to speak.

There’s quite a few different blogging ideas there. I think I’ve convinced you so the answer is a resounding yes, you should be blogging for your HVAC business. My recommendation is just to do maybe one blog post per week and then push that out through the various social media channels and increase the size of the site. If you can increase the size of your website by 50 pages over the next year, you’re going to get so much more traffic coming through to the website. More traffic is going to equal more leads. More leads, more sales, more profit for you. Hopefully I’ve convinced you. Start doing some blogging for your HVAC website. Thanks very much for watching and we’ll see you in the next video.
